Boxing King Media & Boxing Guru broadcast another exciting night of championship boxing this Friday, live from the sold-out Barnsley Metrodome. Pride of Yorkshire Promotions present an exciting 9-fight card, headlined by an IBO Continental Super lightweight title bout between the entertaining, home favourite Lee Appleyard and Ahmed Mweva, who has never been stopped.

Lee is expecting a very tough fight and has had a great camp despite distractions outside of the ring with news of the Coronavirus outbreak. “I’m expecting a good tough fight and one that I am ready for. I believe I am a level above Mweva and come Fight Night, my experience will show through and I expect to put in a very good performance. It’s been very annoying this past week or so leading up to the fight not knowing 100% if it will go ahead but I’ve managed to stay focused on the job in hand. Mweva is a very game opponent, is bringing a lot of support with him and is up for taking that belt home, so this looks to be another dream fight for the fans.”

The sold-out event is supported by a host of local prospects including 2 debutants, Will Simpson & Lianne Bush. Also featuring is Dom Hunt and Muma Mweemba who have previously fought on our broadcasts and the talented Light heavyweight Callum Simpson who has impressed hugely since turning pro last year. In his last outing back in November, he showcased his skills and put on the performance of the night.
