As the festive period comes back around, boxing should once again provide the entertainment. Forget about Home Alone or Elf, it’s in the ring where the real excitement awaits.

Errol Spence Jr vs Danny Garcia – Saturday 5th

The first key fight of the month will see Errol Spence Jr defending his WBC and IBF welterweight championships against former two-weight champion Danny Garcia.

Spence has been undefeated since adding the WBC belt to his collection on 28th September 2019. ‘The Truth’ claimed a split decision over Shawn Porter – The welterweight who beat Garcia to claim the vacant WBC belt in 2018.

An event that has been postponed by months due to the outbreak of Covid-19, a small number of fans will be granted access to the arena.

The main card is set to commence at 2am GMT on the morning of the 6th. The main event ring walks are anticipated for roughly 5am GMT.

Premier Sports will be broadcasting the show for viewers in the UK.

THE BOXING GAME YOU HAVE ALL BEEN WAITING FOR!

Anthony Joshua vs Kubrat Pulev – Saturday 12th December

The second key fight of the month will see Britain’s Anthony Joshua defending his WBA (Super), IBF, WBO and IBO heavyweight titles against Bulgaria’s Kubrat Pulev.

Neither boxer would have fought in over a year. AJ has been out of action since beating Andy Ruiz Jr in their Saudi Arabia re-match last December, whilst Pulev last fought American heavyweight Rydell Booker in California.

For AJ’s first fight on UK soil in over two years, we are expecting fireworks. With negotiations ongoing for an undisputed world title fight with WBC champion Tyson Fury in 2021, AJ cannot afford to slip up against a man who has only previously been beaten by Wladimir Klitschko.

The world title clash presents the perfect chance for Pulev to pull off a Ruiz styled upset at the 02 Arena.

There will be an expected 1,000 boxing fans at the event shown live on Sky Sports Box Office (PPV). The undercard will get under way at 7pm GMT, with the main event expected to start between 10pm and 11pm GMT.

A staggering 79% of all Boxing Guru readers think that Joshua will beat Pulev in London.

Saúl ‘Canelo’ Álvarez vs Callum Smith – Saturday 19th December

The third and final key fight of the month will see WBA “super” super middleweight champion Callum Smith up against the WBA “regular” super middleweight champion Saúl ‘Canelo’ Álvarez. Smith’s Ring super middleweight title will also be on the line.

Álvarez, who will compete for the second time in his career at 168 pounds, steps back into the ring for the first time since capturing the WBO light heavyweight title in November 2019. ‘Canelo’ became a four-division world champion when he beat Sergey Kovalev 13 months ago.

Smith is considered the best 168-pound fighter in the world. The Englishman hasn’t competed since beating John Ryder via unanimous decision in November 2019. ‘Mundo’ won the WBA title a year before by knocking out George Groves at the World Boxing Super Series Final – September 2018.

A staggering 84% of all Boxing Guru readers think that ‘Canelo’ will beat Smith and once again prove that he is the pound for pound fighter in the world.
