Callum Walsh vs Dauren Yeleussinov Preview: King Callum Makes His Return in New York on
St. Patrick’s Weekend

Undefeated Super Welterweight Irish sensation “King” Callum Walsh (9-0) returns to the Theater at MSG this Friday, the 15th of March, to continue his journey to the world title. He will face off against the hard-hitting veteran from Kazakhstan, Dauren Yeleussinov (11-3-1), for the WBC Continental Americas Super Welterweight Title. Walsh vs. Yeleussinov headlines an Irish- packed card on the St. Patrick’s Day weekend. Callum Walsh wants to continue his rise to superstar status this Friday by adding another dominant win to his record. The 23-year-old Irish prospect has made a name for himself and has had the unique platform of being backed by the UFC and UFC boss Dana White. Fighting once again live on UFC fight pass, Walsh has taken a different approach in his development and, at only 9-0, finds himself headlining his 5th card. While finding himself under the spotlight faster than most boxing prospects, Walsh has embraced his platform and has made himself one of boxing’s brightest young stars.

His next challenge will be getting past the 37-year-old from Kazakhstan, Dauren Yeleussinov. While Yeleussinov is 14 years older than Walsh, he still presents a unique puzzle. Like Callum, Yeleussinov is a southpaw who carries power. Walsh, who is typically an aggressive fighter, plays well into Yeleussinov’s counterpunching style. A note on Yeleuissnov’s stance is he does have his left hand relatively low, so expect the lead right hook to be a part of Callum’s game plan heading into this fight. While Yeleuissinov is no pushover and has only won via decision once, Walsh is expected to continue his dominant victories.

Also on the card is undefeated Irish Super Featherweight Feargal McCrory (15-0), who faces off against Carlos Carlson (25-7) for the WBA Inter-Continental title. The Irish southpaw will look to keep his undefeated streak going against Mexico’s Carlson, who is coming off a 4th round KO over Cosme Rivera Yocupicio.

Hometown favorite Rashat “The Albanian Bear” Mati (14-0) will also look to add another victory to his undefeated record. The 25-year-old from Staten Island, NY, will face off against Irving Macias (14-4) in the super lightweight division. With quick and sharp punching abilities, Mati has the potential to steal the show and propel his name into more conversations.

In the light heavyweight division, Ireland’s Joseph Ward (10-1) is riding an impressive 10-fight win streak; he steps into the ring against Derrick Webster, a seasoned veteran with 34 fights under his belt. With back-to-back TKO victories, Ward is looking to extend his streak and solidify his position in the light heavyweight division.

In another exciting bout, Cletus Seldin (27-1) will defend his undefeated streak since 2017 against Jose Angulo (16-7). A former NABA Super lightweight champion, Seldin has proven himself against formidable opponents like Zab Judah and Yves Ulysse Jr.

Giovanni Scuderi (9-0) vs Brandon Carmack (7-3-2) Contested at heavyweight.

Also on the card, Italian heavyweight Giovanni Scuderi (9-0), standing at an imposing 6’6 looks to maintain his perfect record as he takes on Brandon Carmack (7-3-2), Making her professional boxing debut, Nisa Rodrigues expects to receive a warm welcome to the ring as the NYPD officer steps into the ring against Jozette Cotton (0-3-1) in the super middleweight
division.
