British champion opens up free boxing lessons for kids!

Former British Champion Josh Wale has opened up his new gym to kids of all ages and backgrounds, kindly offering free classes to those that are not in the position to afford to pay for training.

Last week, a group of young kids was outside the gym as Josh was locking up for the evening. One of them said to Josh that he wanted to try boxing but his mum and dad couldn’t afford it.

Josh said he understands its a hard time for many families and sports clubs right now and so wanted to do something to help support the community. Josh is determined to help as many people as he can from all backgrounds but primarily for local kids to give them a chance and also carry on his dad’s name (Micky) with the boxing club for years to come.

“Every kid who wants to try boxing at the new gym will get their chance.”

What training is available at Micky’s Athletic Boxing Club?

Mini Outlaws – For kids aged 4-9 who want to try boxing and exercise.

Squad Box – A fun atmosphere, high-intensity & calorie-burning 45-minute workout session combining fitness and boxing – available for the general population.

Amateur boxing club – for people looking to compete and take their boxing seriously (aged 10+)

1-2-1 boxing sessions with Josh – currently fully booked but contact Josh (details below) as odd slots are available each week.

“The club offers people everything under one roof – from kids and adults to fitness and boxing training.” Josh said.

If you are not able to afford to pay for sessions at this time, Josh has put on a weekly Friday session for kids aged 10-16 from 3.15 pm – 4 pm. These sessions are currently limited to 12 due to COVID-19 restrictions.
