Saul Alvarez’s trainer Eddy Reynoso has strongly denied fixing fights and dehydrating fighters.

He told ESPN Deportes, “First of all, I want to clarify, as coach and manager of Saul, we do not dehydrate anyone or fix or buy fights or rivals!… It seems there are dark intentions to discredit our fighter and more than anything, try to minimize his achievements.”

Many fans believe Canelo’s last opponent Sergey Kovalev, looked weak in his last outing and others went as far as to say the fight was fixed, accusing the Russian of taking a dive.

ThatDudeJordan, a Boxing Guru fan who was at the live event posted on our Instagram post “Yup, I said the same night, in the arena, in section 19, that it was a dive for the cash – it looked so fake!”

Even rapper and movie star LL Cool J got involved in the debate asking, “Was that a fix?”

This week, Kovalev admitted himself that he had no chance of winning and took the fight for financial reasons. “Given the conditions, it was impossible to win. You are ignoramuses since you thought I could win. I climbed into this weight with torment & sleepless nights. Because it was a financially interesting offer,”
