One of Britain’s most promising talents turns 24 years old today. Just one week after scoring his 17th career win and 16th knockout, Daniel Dubois has another occasion to celebrate. The young heavyweight took his division by storm on the British front in these last couple of years, winning an array of different regional titles. Despite his setback loss against rival Joe Joyce last year, ‘Dynamite’ has returned to his typical dramatic winning ways.

The established prospect is using age to his side and staying active with two fights in under three months this year with victories against Bogdan Dinu and Joe Cusumano inside the distance. These may not be the biggest household names in the heavyweight division but nevertheless the one win resulted in Dubois capturing the WBA interim title (which has now been scrapped) and the other was for his debut in the US.

As the Greenwich native takes a step up in age today, he will likely be taking a step up in opposition for his next fight unless he plans on righting his wrongs against world title contender and the only man to ever beat him in Joe Joyce. In their last encounter ‘Dynamite’ suffered a career-threatening injury as his orbital bone was broken by Juggernaut Joyce which ended in him staying down for the 10 count. Having gone back to the drawing board since then though, Dubois will be more experienced and knowledgeable if he fights his English foe again.

There is a bright future ahead for today’s birthday boy and at BoxingGuru we are excited to see what’s next for DDD!
